Friday 10th August 1832

Then called on Miss Walker of Lidgate and sat 1 3/4  hour with her – found her very civil and agreeable –

She said she had heard that Mrs Kenny would not have been walking arm in arm with my sister but that she wanted her for another, Mr Clark.said the thing seemed absurd but agreed that Marian was likely enough to be taken in. Miss W then said how deep the Kennys were, Mrs K would have been as intimate with her (Miss W) but she had fought shy, thinking her very forward about it. Said how she disliked Doctor Kenny as a medical man, he asked queer questions and made odd remarks, she would never have him again. We got on very well together thought I, as I have several times done before of late. Shall I try and make up to her?

Left Miss Walker at 1 35/..
